Discstarter Runtime-Modul or Discstarter Runtime System is the service name used for the EXE process autostart.exe, and is a part of the software product known as Discstarter or RichiStudios Shutdown, which is developed by Joachim Schwieren Software- Entwicklung & Vertrieb or mirabyte GmbH & Co. KG or RichiStudios. Upon the installation of the program, the autostart.exe file is added into the system, where it automatically starts to execute itself, or its encoded task, which is to allow a computer user to create professional HTML autostart menus for DVDs, CDs and even USB drives, through the use of web authoring tools. The application that houses the autostart.exe file supports some later versions of Windows operating system (OS) by Microsoft Corporation, i.e. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. The autostart.exe module is not essentially a file that launches the important utility tools of the operating system, but still runs in the background, which can be checked in the Task Manager.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. autostart.exe. is used by Discstarter or RichiStudios Shutdown, If you shut down autostart.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop autostart.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Discstarter or RichiStudios Shutdown, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Discstarter or RichiStudios Shutdown, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
