The process has no visible windows. It is not a system file on Windows. The audioshellext.dll file may be a compressed file. AudioShell is a freeware for Microsoft Windows Explorer as a shell extension plug-in. It allows viewing and editing of ID3 metadata tags on Windows Explorer directly. It is a tool for mp3 players. It allows the user to fix file tags easily and quickly on IE before finally uploading it to their MP3 player.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. audioshellext.dll. is used by AudioShell, If you shut down audioshellext.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop audioshellext.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AudioShell, from your system.
