The executable process file, atr1.exe (version 2.2.3.0), is identified to be as Atari Registration that is part of the software, Dragonshard, or Power Reg as developed by the Company, Atari/Leader Technologies. It is regarded as a software registration that goes by the process name, ATR 1, in which the application that uses this process is Power Reg. The presence of this process file is found running in the Task Manager as the process atr1.exe, located in the subfolder of C:\Program Files or sometimes in C:\Documents and Settings with the directory of %TEMP%\{6BBDAC4B-6FO8-46CF-81F8-E557C3DD7006}\{907B4640-266B-4A21-92FB-CD1A86CD0F63}. The process file atr1.exe simultaneously starts up upon the Windows entry with the Registry Key of: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ Current Version\Explorer\User Shell\Folders and with a file size on Windows 7 or XP of 11,128,832 bytes (66% of all occurrences), or 4,947,968 bytes. It features having a visible window, but is neither considered as a Windows core file nor is it digitally signed and is CPU intensive. In functionality, it has the capability to record inputs.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. atr1.exe. is used by Atari Registration, If you shut down atr1.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop atr1.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Atari Registration, from your system.
