The file atlbho.dll is a process that belongs to the software FlashGet. The software allows users to manage their downloads. It can also enable the users to decrease the download time by splitting the files into multiple sections and downloading it simultaneously. The atlbho.dll is a Dynamic Link Library used by FlashGet. The file runs as an Explorer Browser Helper Object which starts up alongside the Internet Explorer. It is not stopped by the Windows Firewall since it is detected to be part of the browser itself. It can be found in the Program Files folder of the Windows XP/7 operating system. The file poses no threat to the system and can easily be removed by uninstalling FlashGet through the Windows Control Panel. When the process is detected to run from the System32 folder, it is possible that is can be a malware in disguise.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. atlbho.dll. is used by FlashGet, If you shut down atlbho.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
