The file ATI Desktop Control Panel which is also known by its internal name as atiptaxx.exe file belongs to the ATI Desktop Component software. The software is from the Company called ATI Technologies. The program is Video Card Driver which would make the ATI Video Card work with the Operating System. The file can be usually located in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers. The size of the file can be usually 344,064 bytes in the Hard Disk Drive (HDD). But the file size may vary when used in different versions of Operating System such as the Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows7. The does not belong to the Windows Core file and it automatically starts when the Personal Computer is started. It has a registry key of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. The file has the ability to record inputs in the Personal Computer. In case there are any problems in the Personal Computer, the user may have the option to remove the file by removing the entire program in which the file is associated with.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. atiptaxx.exe. is used by ATI , If you shut down atiptaxx.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop atiptaxx.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ATI , from your system.
