What is aracpi.sys
The system file asacpi.sys is known as a Windows driver. It is also called as ATK0110 Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) that belongs to the software ATK0110 ACPI Utility by ASUSTek Computer. The software program, an Asus motherboard and hotkey driver (HControl) package, allows the computer to access and communicate with hardware and connected devices. The HControl package uses function buttons in communication with the F1-F12 keys and Instant On or other non-keyboard buttons. This ATK0110 ACPI utility interfaces with the AMI BIOS WinFlash Utility. It also controls the Quick Launch buttons. The ACPI Utility establishes the interfaces enabling operating system-directed configuration, thermal management, and power management for mobile, desktop and server platforms. It evolved a collection of power management BIOS code, Advanced Power Management (APM) application programming interfaces (APIs) into an organized power management and configuration interface specification. PNPBIOS APIs and the Multiprocessor Specification (MPS) tables are also part of the specification. This specification then makes the new power management technologies to work independently in OS and hardware ensuring their collaborative workforce.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. aracpi.sys. is used by ATK0110 ACPI Utility, If you shut down aracpi.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
