This process description is also known as Apcupsd. The process name stands for APC UPS Daemon and is a licensed application under the GPL version2. Apcupsd runs and is compatible with operating systems such as Linux, UNIX, Mac OS X and other Windows machine. It functions through the use of Cygwin – a tool that provides Linux the appearance or environment for Windows and is responsible for providing relevant functionalities for Linux API. In case of a computer power failure or crash, the Apcupsd gives users a warning. It also informs users whenever a computer shutdown may occur. Thus, its basic function is to give early warnings and signals on a current condition or status of a computer. Available connection types of the apcupsd or APC UPS Daemon are the USB, RS232 or the Enthernet. This program file maintains a client-server affiliation and can connect with other computer’s Apcupsd.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. apcupsd.exe. is used by Apcupsd or APC UPS Daemon, If you shut down apcupsd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop apcupsd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Apcupsd or APC UPS Daemon, from your system.
