The file apcmain.exe installs a process called Ascentive Performance Center. The file does not come pre-installed in laptops or CPUs, but is generally manually installed through the software that installed your Ascentive program such as Registry Cleaner, Anti-Malware, or other software from Ascentive. The application enables users to manage all their Ascentive programs in one interface. File size may vary, depending on the version of the application that you installed. Generally, file size ranges from 3.164 KB to 612 KB. This can run as a background task, or you can disable it to free up valuable resources. Some users find that uninstalling the software that installed the application, does not automatically delete the apcmain.exe process. They would still find this running in the background even when there no longer is any software associated with that is installed on the computer.
