The process called aolpspd,exe is a process which came from the AOL Uninstaller. The process is also called AOL Topspeed 9.0 which was made by America Online. Removing the process will cause the American Online browser not to work. This utility is also downloaded separately which ensures the faster access speed by using the Web caching technology. This process is expedient especially over the dial-up connection for this can eventually speed up the browsing by storing the Web pages and uses it after the user visits the same page for faster loading. This process is usually located in the C: folder under the Program Files and then the common files which has the size of 487,518 bytes on the Hard Disk Drive. The size will vary on different Operating System used. This program contains no visible window, however this process has the ability to send and receive program data through the open ports of a Local Area Network (LAN) and as well as the Internet.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. aoltpspd.exe. is used by AOL TopSpeed, If you shut down aoltpspd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop aoltpspd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AOL TopSpeed, from your system.
