The process that is installed on your PC through the file aolacsd.exe is known as AOL Connectivity Service. The process is part of the AOL service, where users are automatically reconnected to the Internet should they become disengaged from their connection while browsing the Web. The application no longer requires the user to manually connect to the Internet once disconnected. This is a background service that should not be stopped in order to take advantage of AOL connectivity, while you are online. You may choose to disable it from startup if you have no need for it. It will not affect system performance if you disable the file, but you will not be able to connect to the Internet through your AOL service. The file’s general path is C:\Proragm Files\Common Files\ACS\aolacsd.exe. Average physical memory usage is 3.4 MB. There are about 11 modules loaded when you execute the file. These are AOL modules and not system modules.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. aolacsd.exe. is used by AOL Connectivtiy Service, If you shut down aolacsd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop aolacsd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AOL Connectivtiy Service, from your system.
