What is  antivir.exe

The antivir.exe process is an executable component file of the AntiVir software, which is a Windows program reported by many users as a rogue system security tool. The antivir.exe process is specifically deployed as the EXE program dispatcher file of the AntiVir application and is activated by the system during the boot process because of certain keys and entries automatically created and inserted into the Windows System Registry upon the installation of the AntiVir software, which is installed with the successful placement and execution of certain fake codecs in the Windows-based system. Some users claim that the AntiVir software displays exaggerated system security alerts or fake notifications intended to scare users into buying the full version of the AntiVir software, and this application has also been known to flag legitimate processes and applications as malicious programs. The antivir.exe process is placed in the Windows-based system upon the installation of the AntiVir rogue system security software.
