The file ALUSchedulerSvc.exe loads the program application Symantec LiveUpdate and Internet Security Suite, the software that functions as the Automatic Live Update Scheduler Service, allowing the user the ability to set the period and time that the LiveUpdate utility can scan the system and match its anti-virus variables with Norton and then download addendums as necessary. Aluschedulersvc.exe is an installed program alongside the Internet Security Suite and the Symantec LiveUpdate. Both perform periodically running as automatic live update schedulers. Users are recommended to schedule Quick, or Complete, or Custom Scans Daily, or Weekly options to ensure that the computer is free of viruses, spywares, malware, Trojan, worms, and other harmful elements. It is also recommended to download and install security updates and software patches. LiveUpdate applies recent updates for Norton versions, but not later version upgrades like Norton Internet Security 2006 and/to 2009. Later product version upgrades are available to download websites.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. aluschedulersvc.exe. is used by Symantec LiveUpdate, If you shut down aluschedulersvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop aluschedulersvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Symantec LiveUpdate, from your system.
