Called by the name Ancillary Function Driver, aksfridge.sys is a type of driver file that is a part of the software AksFridge, which is installed for PCs and laptops that use Windows operating systems (Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME), created by Aladdin Knowledge Systems or SafeNet, and digitally signed by Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher (Microsoft Time-Stamp Service). Ancillary Function Driver, or aksfridge.sys, is a kernel driver, and if this fails to execute, any error is recorded into the computer system’s event log, while in Windows 7, a message box pops up to inform the user about its failure or error. Also called as AFD, Ancillary Function Driver needs to remain active and running in the background. Deleting it can cause effects on the computer system, especially that the file aksfridge.sys is called by other modules, which are related to DHCP Client and TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper.
