This process is a VIPSEARCHER variant spyware. This spyware installs itself as a Browser Helper Object (BHO) in web browsers. The Browser Helper Object *.dll files are designed to be installed on internet explorer to provide additional functionalities to the browser. One instance of this object is loaded for every window in case of windows explorer and loaded once for every internet explorer instance. BHO API permits the contact to the Document Object Model (DOM) through hooks and manipulates the existing page as well as the movement of the object. This is harnessed by the spyware to control what gets displayed to the user. So when a Google search is triggered, it automatically redirects the web page to vipsearcher.net. One other malicious activity that it performs is that it can track user's browsing activity and find patterns in it. Based on the patterns, it will display targeted advertisements which are unwanted by the user. It also has the ability to send the collected user data to a third party.
