What is administrator.exe
The administrator.exe process is an EXE program file that has been reported by many users as a malicious application associated with the Trojan.Win32.Rabbit.bp software, which is a known family of Trojans. Other user reports claim that the administrator.exe process is a variant belonging to the Trojan.Pandex program, which is another known family of Trojans. Both user reports state that the administrator.exe process is capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in an unprotected Windows-based system, and these registry keys and entries instruct the infected system to allow the administrator.exe process to initialize during system startup. Upon its successful initialization, the administrator.exe process is said to be capable of covertly operating as a background process, in order to search for unsecure TCP/IP network ports that it can exploit and use to contact remote servers that are managed by its authors. Upon establishing communications with these Web servers, the administrator.exe process has been reported to download more malicious programs as well as upload private user details and Internet surfing information it has collected from the infected system and its default Web browser.
