The file VIA Codec Control Panel has an internal name which is called the adeck.exe file. The file belongs to the software called Vinyl Deck which is owned and developed by the VIA Technologies. This is a program is a sound Driver specifically VIA sound card install in the Personal Computer (PC). The file can be usually found in the C:\Program Files and the file has the usual size of 7,957,504 bytes in the Hard Disk Drive (HDD). But the file size may vary when used in different version of Operating System such as the Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. The file contains no visible window in which the user may have the option to change the way it behaves in the Personal Computer. This file belongs to the Windows Core files. The user may have the option to remove the file by removing the entire software in which the file is associated with.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. adeck.exe. is used by  VIA Codec Control Panel, If you shut down adeck.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop adeck.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is  VIA Codec Control Panel, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as  VIA Codec Control Panel, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
