The ad-watch.exe file is an executable application process integrated into Windows-based systems by the Lavasoft Ad-Aware software as the EXE program dispatcher file of the Ad-Aware Monitor application, which is a small program built into the Ad-Aware software for implementing its embedded system monitoring and spyware detection functionalities into the Windows-based system. This means the ad-watch.exe process is activated by the Ad-Aware software whenever it requires these monitoring and detection features to be actively running as a background process in the system. The Ad-Aware software is a Windows program classified as a system security tool with features for protecting the system against possible hacker attacks, user privacy risks, data security threats, system stability issues and data loss or corruption that may be caused by backdoor rootkits, viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware programs and other malicious applications. The ad-watch.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Ad-Aware program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ad-watch.exe. is used by Ad-Aware and Ad-Aware Monitor Application, If you shut down ad-watch.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ad-watch.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Ad-Aware and Ad-Aware Monitor Application, from your system.
