What is actalert.exe
The actalert.exe executable file is a dialler, a type of malware, which was a part of Avenue Media Internet Optimizer program. The actalert.exe executable file initiates a phone call to an organization which asks a user for money or requires fees. Some of these diallers are programmed and developed by the organization itself to produce money. Diallers are masked as music files, free key generators for software, and in most cases, pornography. In the case of the Avenue Media Internet Optimizer program, the “internet optimizer” will appear to be optimizing your internet browser but it is not. The program then views pop-ups that are based on the user’s searches. If the pop-ups are based on user searches, then the pop-ups will appear interesting for the user. DSL-connected users are very unlikely to suffer from these types of malware since their modems are not subsequently connected to a phone line.
