The acroiehelpershim.dll module is a system file that loads the Adobe Acrobat Reader, a required file to correctly display and operate PDF or Portable Document Format files. Acroiehelpershim.dll is a module in the Browser Helper Object, a program that is installed in the computer along with the Adobe Acrobat Reader application. Acroiehelpershim.dll functions as the application launcher to provide readability of the PDF file content directly from the Web Browser. It is not recommended to remove the acroiehelpershim.dll file as doing so may prevent PDF files and other programs to run or function correctly. By default settings, acroiehelpershim.dll can be located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX. The file can also be located or transferred to other folders and will not do any malfunction to the system. The true acroiehelpershim.dll file is safe and among the Browser Helper Object components which is able to function as a monitor of malware programs, adware or spyware.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. acroiehelpershim.dll. is used by Adobe PDF Helper, If you shut down acroiehelpershim.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop acroiehelpershim.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Adobe PDF Helper, from your system.
