This type of process is also known as 42 Always Connected Plug (AC- Plug) which is a property of the AC Plug software designed or created by iOpus Software GmbH. It is located in the directory file folder of C:\Program Files and icon for this can be located in the taskbar portion beside the clock icon. The acplug.exe file is not a Windows core file meaning it does not eat up space on the user’s computer system. It also has a visible window which helps the user determine when the program is running and when it is not running. This process normally functions by stopping the possible disconnection of internet from happening once there is no activity detected for a period of time. This process file periodically sends signal which will keep and maintain an active internet connection for the user’s computer network.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. acplug.exe. is used by AC-Plug, If you shut down acplug.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop acplug.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AC-Plug, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.
