What is  ac.sharedstore.exe

Ac.sharedstore.exe is the process file for ActivIdentity ActivClient, a Web cache mechanism used for the temporary caching or storing of web documents, including HTML images and pages that reduce bandwidth usage, perceived lag, and server load. The web cache stores document copies passing through it and fulfills requests from the cache when conditions are met. Web caches can store a website. The forward cache stores pages outside the Web server's network. A network-aware forward cache works like the forward cache, but works on heavily accessed items. A reverse cache positions in front of Web applications and Web servers, accelerating the requests coming from the Internet. A client or Web browser stores web content for recycle or reuse, that is, when the Back button is pressed, a cached version of the page is displayed instead of sending new request to the Web server. The web proxy between the server and the client evaluates HTTP headers and chooses to store the Web content. The content delivery network retains copies of the Web content at different points across the network.
