The abouttime.exe file is an executable application process implemented into the AboutTime software as its EXE program dispatcher file, which means users can load the AboutTime application unto the Windows-based system and integrate its functionalities by activating the abouttime.exe process. The AboutTime software is a Windows program classified as a desktop enhancement program developed with time management features for synchronizing the PC clock (the clock in the Windows System Tray) in real time with any time zone selected by the user. The user can switch between two modes: AboutTime Client and AboutTime Server. Both AboutTime modes acquire the real time settings of the time zone selected by the user from AboutTime Web servers, and the AboutTime server mode allows the user to integrate up to four time zone settings into the other client computers that are connected to the same network. The abouttime.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the AboutTime software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. abouttime.exe. is used by AboutTime Client/Server, If you shut down abouttime.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop abouttime.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AboutTime Client/Server, from your system.
