The a2start.exe process is an executable program file that is bundled with the a-squared Anti-Malware software, which has been renamed to EmsiSoft Anti-Malware as of this writing. This program is a Windows application classified as a system security tool with a set of features that can allow users to monitor and protect their Windows-based systems against viruses, spyware items, Trojans, worms, backdoor rootkits and hijackers among other malware programs that can cause data security risks, user privacy threats, hacker attacks, data loss or corruption and system stability issues. The a2start.exe process is specifically deployed as a component of the a-squared Security Center application, which is a small program implemented into the a-squared Anti-Malware tool for integrating support access and application updating functionalities into the a-squared Anti-Malware software. The a2start.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the a-squared Anti-Malware tool, which also means the a2start.exe process is included in the component files and modules that are bundled into the installer distributions of the a-squared (or EmsiSoft) Anti-Malware application.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. a2start.exe. is used by a-squared Anti-Malware or EmsiSoft Anti-Malware and a-squared Security Center Application, If you shut down a2start.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop a2start.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is a-squared Anti-Malware or EmsiSoft Anti-Malware and a-squared Security Center Application, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as a-squared Anti-Malware or EmsiSoft Anti-Malware and a-squared Security Center Application, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
