what is a .drg file?

The DRG file extension is a data format known as I-Doser Audio Drug File. DRG files are associated with I-Doser, a program that uses binaural beats to attempt human brainwaves synchronization. Binaural beats are special sound frequencies that cancel each other out as they enter each side of the head, causing a different frequency to be heard in the brain. DRG files are audio files that store a thirty to forty minute-stereo audio track created using binaural recording techniques, the dose information and screenshot image. They are used to stimulate or alter mood and feeling while played back using stereo headphones. In the beginning DRG files were restricted to a single playback but when the drug was sold to I-Doser Store, they already allowed multiple playbacks. These files originated from the open source SBaGen file format. Files in DRG format can be opened with I-Doser Labs I-Doser in Microsoft Windows based systems.

I-Doser

I-Doser

I-Doser is an application for the playback of proprietary audio developed by Nick Ashton. The audio files for the player contains binaural beats that are claimed to stimulate specific mental states. Most of these binaural beats are named after prohibited recreational drugs. The audio technology used for the I-Doser uses a GPL-licensed binaural beat generator. Binaural beats are auditory processing artifacts that stimulate specific physical stimuli in the brain. Binaural beats can help induce relaxation, creativity, meditation, and altered mental states. The I-Doser player is a free download but the audio tracks have to be purchased. These tracks are usually 30 to 40 minutes long and are administered from the MAC and PC player with a program called I-Doser. Tracks are classified according to the perceived effects like relaxation, mental improvement (Brain+), stimulation of specific brainwaves (Alpha, Beta, and Theta), or the drug-like effects of the brand name counterparts. The operating systems used used are Windows, Mac OS X, and mobile applications for iOS and Android.

a word of warning

Be careful not to rename the extension on .drg files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.

what is a file extension?

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .drg. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
