Avid Media Composer

Media Composer is a tool which was developed by Avid Technology, Inc. specifically for editing of videos which makes it known in the industry of film and video. The tool is known to provide 64-bit performance among its other features which includes several video editing tools; file based stereo workflows in 3D as well as streamlined HD. It has an Avid Media Authoring which gives its user the capability of creating AS-02 as well as other volumes which can be used for archiving purposes as well as writing sequences back to its main source using AMA. Avid NewsCutter

Avid NewsCutter is an application that is categorized as a video editing program, and this software was developed by Avid for computers that are running on compatible versions of Microsoft Windows systems. Video and film editing functionalities, particularly 64-bit nonlinear editing features, are integrated into Avid NewsCutter. Workgroup collaboration tools have also been implemented into the most recent release of Avid NewsCutter as of this writing, and remote editing features have also been added. Embedded support for I/O devices from Matrox, AJA and Blackmagic Design among other hardware manufacturers is also available in Avid NewsCutter. An enhanced Graphical User Interface (GUI) has also been implemented into Avid NewsCutter, making this film and video editing tool a simple to operate application even for beginner users. HD and SD codec support is also integrated into Avid NewsCutter, allowing users to no longer perform transcoding operations when combining multiple news footage clips in different formats.

Avid Symphony

Avid Symphony is a program classified as a video editing tool, and this software is also integrated with video mastering features. Tools for video editing, workflow configurations and video mastering that are found in Media Composer are also similar to applets embedded into Avid Symphony. Active Format Description (AFD) support is also available in the most recent release of Avid Symphony. Metadata details of multiple video clips can also be analyzed by Avid Symphony to re-establish links between certain video clips upon user consent. As of this writing, the most recent version of Avid Symphony provides users with the ability to quickly and easily enable or disable software only mode without the need to turn off connected I/O devices. Other intuitive functionalities are also available in Avid Symphony, such as the ability of users to share their I/O devices with other computers in the network.

Avid Xpress

As of this writing, the latest version of Avid Xpress Pro is 5.8.4, and this release is implemented with support for computers that are running on version 10.4.11 of Mac OS X. Avid Xpress Pro is also compatible with Windows-based systems, and this software is generally classified as a video editing application. Nonlinear film and video editing functionalities are integrated into Avid Xpress Pro, and most of its video editing functionalities are similar to the features that are embedded in the Media Composer program. Authoring tools for custom sound clips and music tracks are also available in Avid Xpress Pro, and digital audio clips or music tracks in supported formats can be exported from compatible third party sources. Advanced options for frame transitions and sound effects are also available in Avid Xpress Pro.
