What is zoom.exe
The zoom.exe is an executable file mostly used by the Vimicro Corporation for their web camera drivers and software. The zoom.exe executable allows the user to digitally zoom a photo being captured live, hence its name. Once a Vimicro software or Vimicro-related hardware is launched, the zoom.exe process launches together with it to use the digital zooming capabilities of the Vimicro software or hardware. The Vimicro Corporation is a company which specializes in multimedia solutions such as PC and netbook cameras, surveillance cameras, and mobile audio and video processors. The zoom.exe executable is one of the main components of PC camera software that are used in various versions of operating systems and is used in most of Vimicro’s multimedia solutions, such as MP4 players which have cameras. The zoom.exe executable is in continuing development and is being used by other companies for web cameras and software, like A4Tech cameras and the AMCap software.
