Referred to by the process name Yahoo! Messenger Tray, the ymsgr_tray.exe file is a module for Windows, which is a component of Yahoo! Messenger, a communications software product developed by Yahoo! The ymsgr_tray.exe process is one of the important components of the Yahoo! Messenger application. Disabling this file can cause problem with the chat messenger, or entirely disable the program, especially if there are other modules that depend on it and call for it. Once the Yahoo! Messenger software is installed on the computer, this file is also included and stored on a particular file folder. It remains stored on the PC and continues to run in the background. As its service name suggests, ymsgr_tray.exe is the file that provides the user to minimize, maximize, or close the program Yahoo@ Messenger in the task bar of a Windows PC. This makes it easier for the user to hide or exit the chat messenger.
