The win32hlp.exe process is an executable application resource used by Microsoft Windows for implementing Windows Help format support into Windows Vista and 7. The win32hlp.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of Microsoft Windows, which also means the win32hlp.exe file is integrated into the installer distributions of Windows Vista and Windows 7. In order for Windows Vista and Windows 7 users to open and view Microsoft Help documentation materials that are encoded in the Microsoft Help file format (HLP), the win32hlp.exe process works together with other built-in EXE Windows application components, certain SYS driver files, some modular system DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files, specific Windows background processes and various system components of Windows Vista and Windows 7. The win32hlp.exe process is activated by the Windows Vista and Windows 7 system whenever the user requests access to the Microsoft Help documentation materials that are bundled with these Windows systems.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. win32hlp.exe. is used by Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows 7, If you shut down win32hlp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop win32hlp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows 7, from your system.
