Termed by the service name Software Update Taskbar Utility, the process vxtaskbarmgr.exe, which is a type of an executable or EXE file, is a part of the software product called VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers, or VERITAS Backup Exec, and is created by VERITAS Software Corporation. The file vxtaskbarmgr.exe is not just a component, but an essential one that needs to remain stored and running the computer, because it is digitally signed from Symantec Corporation - VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer, and any module with digital signature is recommended to remove, unless it is causing errors or problems that affect the performance of the system of the desktop PC or laptop. Also, vxtaskbarmgr.exe is a Windows file, so it works with most or all versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows Vista. Once the software VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers is downloaded, vxtaskbarmgr.exe is stored on a file folder, registered into Windows registry, and automatically run as a background process.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vxtaskbarmgr.exe. is used by VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers, If you shut down vxtaskbarmgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
