The vtmini.sys process is a system file bundled with other SYS components, EXE program files, certain Dynamic Link library modules, various background processes and associated components that are used and referenced by the firmware and driver software resources of certain VIA video chipsets. The vtmini.sys file is specifically implemented as among the main resource processes of the VIA/S3G Miniport Driver module, which is built into the driver software and firmware resources of supported VIA video chipsets. The vtmini.sys file is placed in the system upon the installation and configuration of these associated VIA device drivers and firmware components, which also means the vtmini.sys process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of these VIA drivers and firmware resources.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vtmini.sys. is used by VIA/S3G Miniport Driver Module, If you shut down vtmini.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vtmini.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is VIA/S3G Miniport Driver Module, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as VIA/S3G Miniport Driver Module, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application.
