Also known as Service Module, the vprosvc.exe process belong to the Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery software. The vprosvc.exe file process can be located in the sub folder of C:\Program Files with a known file size of 2,066,024 bytes in Windows 7 and Windows XP operating systems. The Symantec System Recovery is used in Windows servers in delivering superior backup and disaster recovery that allows businesses from recovering the downtime or disasters in minutes. It has the following key features: restoring physical and virtual servers from local or off-site destinations in minutes, even to bare metal, dissimilar hardware, remote locations, or virtual environments; capturing and protecting the entire system which includes the operating system, applications, all files, device drivers, etc. in one easy-to-manage recovery point using its image-based technology; enhances disaster recovery capabilities from Offsite Backup Copy to FTP location or secondary disk drive; manage centrally and scales enterprise; ensuring the security of critical business data in flight and at rest through its built-in AES encryption; backing up of almost all disk storage device regardless of the provider; and performing seamless, automated physical to virtual (P2V) and virtual to physical (V2P) conversions.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vprosvc.exe. is used by Symantec, If you shut down vprosvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vprosvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Symantec, from your system.
