The vcddaemon.exe process is the program launcher of the Virtual Clone Drive Daemon, the software that transcodes pictures to give better quality and enhancement by using high reduction rates with impressive speed and permanent quality control. Virtual Clone Drive Daemon has a sophisticated Film Strip Assistant which guides a beginner during setup. It displays snapshots of pictures and animations in real-time bit rate and statistics. The vcddaemon.exe file is loaded during Windows boot. When executed, it opens the Settings, the Language, and the Info tabs where the user can readily configure or change settings. The Settings tab shows the eight virtual drives and a Virtual Sheep icon which distinguishes the virtual drives among the physical drives. The Language tab enables the user choose or change the program language. The Info tab shows the publisher and the program version number. Vcddaemon.exe provides a video-format preview of all the selectable DVD titles that are customizable, with chapters that can be trimmed and split, with menu tools that can be added or removed.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vcddaemon.exe. is used by Virtual CloneDrive, If you shut down vcddaemon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vcddaemon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Virtual CloneDrive, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Virtual CloneDrive, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
