What is truecrypt.exe
The truecrypt.exe process is an executable program resource file distributed with other EXE application component items, some SYS driver files, certain Dynamic Link Library (DLL) modules, specific background process items and various associated components that are used by the TrueCrypt software. This application is a Windows program classified as a file and folder encryption management tool developed by TrueCrypt Foundation with a set of features that can allow users to encrypt the files and folders stored in their Windows-based systems with security protocols and unique user and application-generated passwords. Encrypted files and folders can also be decrypted and opened or unlocked with the TrueCrypt software. The truecrypt.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable program dispatcher file of the TrueCrypt software, which means users can activate the truecrypt.exe file in order to launch the TrueCrypt program and implement its functionalities into the system. The truecrypt.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the TrueCrypt software, which also means the truecrypt.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of the TrueCrypt program.
