Commonly called as TOSDCR as its service name, the process tosdcr.exe is an executable or EXE file, and is a part of the software Toshiba Password Utility, which is developed by Toshiba Corporation. The Toshiba Password Utility program is a utility application that enables a user to set, use and maintain password to secure his or her computer, and basically restricting computer access. Most Toshiba computers have this program pre-installed, so the file tosdcr.exe is already stored and automatically runs in the background once the laptop or notebook is switched on during Windows startup. This file is also a Windows module, which suggests that it works with all or most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which include Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME. It is recommended to keep the fie process running in the background, and must not be terminated, except if it starts to cause problems that affect the performance of the computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tosdcr.exe. is used by TOSHIBA Password Utility, If you shut down tosdcr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tosdcr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is TOSHIBA Password Utility, from your system.
