The tnbutil.exe process is an executable program file integrated into the F-Secure AntiVirus software, which is a Windows program classified as a system security tool designed with a set of embedded features for monitoring and protecting Windows-based computers against potential hacker attacks, system stability issues, user privacy risks, data security threats and data corruption or loss caused by viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware programs and backdoor rootkits among other malicious applications. The tnbutil.exe process assists the F-Secure AntiVirus program in the integration of its GUI (Graphical User Interface) components and dialogue box elements into the Windows-based system upon the activation of the F-Secure AntiVirus software. This means the tnbutil.exe process may be executed by the F-Secure AntiVirus application when the user loads the F-Secure AntiVirus program unto the system. The tnbutil.exe file is included as one of the EXE application resources bundled into the installer distribution packages of the F-Secure AntiVirus program, which also means the tnbutil.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation and configuration of the F-Secure AntiVirus software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tnbutil.exe. is used by F-Secure AntiVirus, If you shut down tnbutil.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tnbutil.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is F-Secure AntiVirus, from your system.
