The process Trend Micro Personal Firewall Service is a component of the software Trend Micro Network Security Components, which is installed on the machine through the file tmpfw.exe. This is the main executable for the process, but not for the main security software. The file was reported to be a CPU hog, consuming up to 50% of CPU time. Users recommend disabling the file if your PC is already running a stable and reliable firewall service. The process is simply an additional component of the software. It is not a vital process for the software’s main security features. Some users on the other hand, deem the file as a necessary component of the security software. The option to disable or to leave the file enabled depends entirely on the user. This will not affect normal Windows system processes because it is not a core component of your Windows OS.
