The tmntsrv.exe file is an EXE application resource file included with other executable program files, some Dynamic Link Library (DLL) modules, certain SYS driver files, specific background processes and various associated components that are required by Trend Micro software products. The applications included in Trend Micro's line of software products are classified as Windows programs that belong to the system security software category, and Trend Micro integrated a set of features into these system security tools that can allow users to constantly monitor and protect their Windows-based systems in real time against data security risks, user privacy threats and system stability issues caused by hacker attacks, backdoor rootkits, Trojans, worms, viruses, spyware items and other malicious code. The tmntsrv.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation and configuration of these Trend Micro software products, which also means the tmntsrv.exe process is implemented into the installer distribution packages of these Trend Micro programs. The tmntsrv.exe process is normally stored in the same application folders where these Trend Micro applications along with its resource componets were installed in the system, which are usually sub directories created during the installation process for these Trend Micro software products, and these sub directories are normally found under the Program Files directory of the system partition.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tmntsrv.exe. is used by Trend Micro Software Products, If you shut down tmntsrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tmntsrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trend Micro Software Products, from your system.
