The tmlisten.exe process is a product of the software company Trend Micro Office Scan Corporation Edition. This EXE file is a successful corporate version tool of Internet security and virus elimination. Unlike the usual security software, though, the Trend Micro does not offer computer protection on an individual basis as its focus is more on providing network protection amongst computers. Therefore, the Trend Micro is targeted to Small Office Home Office (SOHO) networks, along with other larger computer networks. The Trend Micro needs to be updated regularly because every day computer and network security threats are continually expanding and this is accomplished with the aid of the tmlisten.exe file. The tmlisten.exe process runs discreetly in the background, listening (or monitoring), for updates from administrators or the Trend Micro Web site itself. This EXE file listens on the port 12345 of the computer by default. The tmlisten.exe file exists for both client and server computers. It is sent out automatically whenever the computer is switched on or rebooted.
