What is  tfsnifs.sys

The tfsnifs.sys file is a component of the Drive Letter Access (DLA) application. Tfsnifs.sys can found in Sonic DLA, Veritas DLA and IBM DLA. DLA is a packet writing application which enables optical disc data storage devices to be used as floppy disks because its packet writing technology is designed for CDs and DVDs that uses UDF file system. In 2009, Roxio Burn has replaced the application DLA. DLA has been first developed by Veritas and then has been acquired by Sonic Solutions. DLA almost always comes with CD and DVD recording drives. PC systems such as Dell, HP, IBM, Sony and Toshiba have a pre-installed DLA. DLA is the standard OEM version for a branded drive and always available for download. Tfsnifs.sys allows the optical drive unit to write data in small packets so that the user can save, change, rename, delete and copy files into optical media, just like what a floppy drive does.
