What is teefer.sys
Known by the name Teefer Driver, the teefer.sys process is a driver file and a component of Sygate Teefer Driver software, also Sygate Personal Firewall, Sygate Personal Firewall Pro, VCOM SystemSuite Professional version 6, and Sygate Security Agent, which is a product manufactured by Sygate Technologies. The Teefer Driver application is used to capture network traffic that enters and leaves an interface to allow packets go through the component of firewall. Moreover, this driver relies on a miniport driver that is related to it, runs in kernel mode in the background, and gives information to the teefer.dll file to enable user mode operations. Since teefer.sys is the file that launches the application, this needs to remain running on the computer system, while stored on a folder location, most particularly in C:\Program Files, or sometimes in C:\Documents and Settings. If the file is not present on the computer, the driver software that houses it is disabled.
