The file swsys.exe, known as SoftActivity AM Client, belongs to software SoftActivity AM Client from Deep Software. This keylogger software runs invisibly in the background and secretly records all URLs visited, keystrokes typed, chat conversations performed, emails received and sent, and programs run in the computer. It works in the stealth mode so the computer user is not aware that all computing activities are being logged. There is no process on the Task Manager, no files can be seen on a hard drive, and the configuration utility and reports viewer are password-protected. It can work remotely and even capture screenshots of remote computers at pre-set time and record information in an encrypted log file. SoftActivity AM Client can be configured to send reports through email at preset schedules, or the log file can be viewed to review computer activity. This PC monitoring, parental control software cannot be installed remotely without physical access to the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. swsys.exe. is used by SoftActivityAM Client, If you shut down swsys.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop swsys.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SoftActivityAM Client, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as SoftActivityAM Client, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
