The file starcraft.exe, known as Starcraft, belongs to software Starcraft, which is a real-time strategy video game from Blizzard Entertainment. This video game was released for Microsoft Windows in 1998, and has spawned a franchise for the StarCraft series. The real-time strategy (RTS) is a sub-genre of strategy video game, where participants maneuver units and structures under their control to secure of the map and destroy their opponents' assets. The StarCraft series is one of the bestselling games for the personal computer, and versions are available for Mac OS and a Nintendo 64 adaptation. The series has evolved into a multiplayer game, where players and teams participate in professional competitions, earn sponsorships, and participate in televised tournaments. This game allows a maximum of eight players who competes in a variety of game modes that includes simply destroying all other players in a level, to king of the hill and capture the flag objective-based games.
