The senfilt.sys process is a driver file that is known by the name Sensaura WDM 3D Audio Driver, from the program SenFilt Service by Sensaura. In another product, there is the same file that belongs to the software Creative Filter Driver or Creative WDM Audio Driver, and is created by Creative Technology Ltd. Both of these separate programs are digitally signed by Microsoft Windows with the signature Microsoft Time-Stamp Service. When the program that contains this particular file, senfilt.sys automatically stores itself in the computer system, and is mostly found in C:\Windows folder, or C:\Windows\System32\drivers. As a filter driver, Sensaura WDM 3D Audio Driver or Creative Filter Driver provides value to compatible peripherals or devices, or supports them to be compatible with the operating system or other applications found in the computer, and inserts itself in the existing driver stack, which allows specific functions to be launched in the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. senfilt.sys. is used by SenFilt Service, If you shut down senfilt.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop senfilt.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SenFilt Service, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as SenFilt Service, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
