The software rtLED has been developed by Realtek Semiconductor. The software contains the rtled.exe file which is responsible in launching the software. The user will see that the software is running in the background once the rtled.exe file is visible in the Task Manager. The light emitting diode (LED) technology has taken over semiconductors. LED is a semiconductor light source. The rtled.exe file that is included in a software using LED technology executes functionalities that involve applications beyond lighting. LED is integrated in the development of new text, video displays and sensors. Infrared LEDs can also be found in remote control units of several commercial products such as televisions, DVD players and other home appliances. The rtled.exe file is being used in several Realtek products. Rtled.exe is installed along with Realtek software. The EXE file is executable and can be found running in the background as seen in the Task Manager.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. rtled.exe. is used by Realtek LED, If you shut down rtled.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop rtled.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Realtek LED, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
