The rtcore32.sys process is a component system file bundled with the program files, system drivers and modular DLL resources that are needed by the MSI Afterburner software, which is a program classified as a device driver application. The MSI Afterburner program is a component of the firmware and driver software resources that are bundled with certain MSI laptops and devices. This means the rtcore32.sys process is packaged with the installer distributions of those MSI firmware and driver software components, and the rtcore32.sys file is also installed in the system upon the installation of the MSI Afterburner application and the associated MSI firmware and driver software. The rtcore32.sys file is specifically deployed as a main component of the MSI Afterburner application, which means the MSI Afterburner program may reference the source code stored in the rtcore32.sys process whenever the system or the user requests for functionalities from the associated MSI laptop or device that correspond to some of the features embedded into the MSI Afterburner application.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. rtcore32.sys. is used by MSI Afterburner, If you shut down rtcore32.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop rtcore32.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is MSI Afterburner, from your system.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
