What is  rpccm.exe

The rpccm.exe file is part of the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. The user has to start the rpccm.exe file so that that the Remote Procedure Call function can activate the Remote Registry Service which enables the user to modify the registry of another computer from a remote terminal. RPC is an inter-process communication that allows an application to execute procedures in another computer which is commonly a part of a shared network. The user does not have to directly input the details to make this remote interaction to take place. The rpccm.exe file allows the mechanisms in a Remote Procedure Call service to work properly. Upon initialization, the EXE file activates RPC which in turn sends a message to a specific remote server to execute an identified procedure. The remote server responds to the user while the application continues what it is doing. The Installation/Management Application which is developed by Absolute Software Corporation also contains the rpccm.exe file. Absolute uses the EXE file when remotely deleting confidential files from computers.
