The softwares are either developed by RealPlayer or RealNetworks. The DLL file is integrated in the RealPlayer browser record plug-in system which is responsible in capturing videos. The system utility can be connected to the Internet Explorer or Safari to be able to download videos from the Web to the local hard drive. The DLL file allows the user to download videos from the website he or she visits. The website contains a page where a Flash video has been embedded. At the click of a button, the user can capture the FLV source file of the video. However if the Flash video is encrypted, the utility is not capable of downloading the file.
