What is restore.exe
The restore.exe file is a process that is called as Restore MFC Application, which is a part of the program Advanced WindowsCare, also known as Restore Application, and is developed by IObit. Since it is an executable file, restore.exe is found in the folder C:\Windows when downloaded. It does not have a visible window but starts itself during the startup of the Windows operating system. What this program does is to prevent slow performance, crashes and freezes of the computer. It has the ability to simply repair Windows system and fix any errors in just a single click of a button. It diagnoses the system for the causes of its slow or poor performance, which includes Windows crashing, freezing and other interruptions. However, this does not offer registry cleaning. Nevertheless, the entire program, including the restore.exe file, helps maintain the optimal performance of the computer system, and improve it further to become faster, more efficient, and more stable.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. restore.exe. is used by Advanced WindowsCare, If you shut down restore.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
