Called as RealNetworks Download and Record Manager, or simpley RealPlayer Downloader, the recordingmanager.exe process is an executable file that is part of the software RealPlayer, which is a multimedia application developed by RealNetworks, Inc. This particular file is mostly located in Program Filesealealplayer folder. However, if the file is found somewhere else, it may be a copycat, which has to be checked because it can be a virus, Trojan or spyware. Once the program is currently running, the file is visible in the Task Manager. What the recordingmanager.exe file does is related to the downloading of videos installed from the Internet, played by RealPlayer. The process works in the system once a video is currently downloading or streaming on the RealPlayer. It means that the file only functions and remains active during video downloading or playing. If this file is deleted, any video a user wants to download or play won’t work.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. recordingmanager.exe. is used by RealPlayer, If you shut down recordingmanager.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop recordingmanager.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is RealPlayer, from your system.
