What is  rcmdsvc.exe

The file rcmdsvc.exe is the Microsoft Remote Command Service (RCMD) from Microsoft Windows version 2000 Operating System. This software enables users to remotely administer and run command-line programs. The RCMD consists of a client and server components (Rcmd.exe and Rcmdsvc.exe), where the client is the command line and the server component is installed as a service. This feature allows users to execute remote commands to be enabled or disabled as desired. The Change Logon allow the system administrator to enable or disable user logons to a Terminal Services session, or query any server from a command-line window from his workstation. It can be used to obtain a directory listing of files on a particular server, or to share a folder on that server. The RCMD service can be started or stopped locally or remotely. It can be configured for auto-start, which will enable the program to run whenever the system is running, whether a user is logged on or not locally.
